Technology! Lasers for anti-riot weapons


British police will conduct trials of a laser weapon intended to make people temporarily blind.

The weapon was named SMU 100 worth of Euro 25,000 and can fire three-meter high wall of light can make people trapped inside could not see for some time.

Designed by a former member of the Royal Marines Commando, this weapon was originally developed to fight piracy in Somalia.

"This system will give police an intimidating visual deterrent. If you can not see then you can not attack.

Although the effects of temporary blindness, but part of this trial are also looking for other side effects.

If everything runs smoothly then the tool must wait for approval from the Ministry of the Interior to be used officially.

This is not the first laser is used to temporarily blind people.

A similar tool is used British and American troops in Afghanistan to protect the convoy from attack.
